Life After St. Anne's School of Annapolis

We are proud of the many directions our students take when they complete their St. Anne’s School education, which include attending the most competitive private day and public schools in the area as well as boarding schools. Because of the quality of our program, our graduates are sought by the top high schools in the area. Most importantly, we support each student in finding an educational environment best suited for his or her academic interests, abilities and extra-curricular pursuits.

We consider the high school search as a collaborative effort between school and home. Through Wendy Gray, our Upper School Placement Director's efforts and in partnership with Chris Conlon, Assistant to the Head of School, Tiffany Conroy, Director of Student Life, and the Middle School teaching team, the School works closely with our families to educate and inform them of the high school search process with one primary goal: to guide families as they explore high school options and determine “good fits” for their children.

  • Beginning in the spring of Seventh Grade, parents receive on-going guidance from the Upper School Placement Director.
  • In May each year, the School hosts our Upper School Fair which is exclusively for Seventh Grade students and parents. Following an informative high school placement meeting with St. Anne's School faculty and staff, families meet with admission representatives from area private day and boarding schools as well as select public high school programs to introduce themselves, gather information and ask questions.
  • Parents meet with the Upper School Placement Director all along the journey to discuss options, review programs and seek guidance as needed.
  • During the fall of Eighth Grade, students will take a High School Seminar intensive class.  During this course, students will focus on the details of the application process. They will hone their interviewing skills, participate in mock interviews, learn about essay writing tips for appllications, and continue research on high schools of interest.

During the application process, our Upper School Placement Director is in personal contact with each student, family and the respective admission directors. Ultimately, St. Anne’s School seeks to guide each student toward a high school where he or she can meet the challenges of the future with confidence and imagination. Our graduates leave St. Anne’s School with a strong sense of themselves, who they are and what they can accomplish as well as with excitement and confidence about the future.

“I feel as though St. Anne’s School gave me the academic push that prepared me mentally for high school. St. Anne’s School was my very first private school experience, and a good place, when I look back.”
