American Math Competition 8
In November, 17 St. Anne’s School students participated in the American Math Competition 8 (AMC 8) held at Anne Arundel Community College. The AMC 8 is a timed, 25 question multiple-choice test that develops and enhances students’ problem solving skills. The 40-minute examination provides problem solving and application questions that uses the concepts our students learn in school. For our school, Emma (Eighth) came in first place, Rex (Eighth) came in second place and Lila (Seventh) came in third place. 108,295 students participated worldwide, from 1,875 "schools" (test sites). Our first and second place winners were in the top 25% of all test takers. We are very proud of all our competitors!
