AIMS Making Schools Safe Conference - Parent Program
As a community of learners, St. Anne's School of Annapolis values the uniqueness and diversity of every individual. It is clear through our school's mission, curriculum, and welcoming community initiative of the school's strategic plan, that we are focused on placing "a greater responsibility in the students' hands for creating and maintaining a socially just community to enhance students' leadership skills, commitment to service, resilience, and moral courage." Each year, selected St. Anne’s School staff and students have participated in the AIMS Gender and Sexuality Diversity Committee’s “Making Schools Safe for Students, Faculty, and Staff: Complex Conversations, Courageous Lives” conference at Roland Park Country School.
This one-day program, brings together a nationally-known speaker, AIMS educators, and a panel of upper school and college students for learning, conversation, and reflection. This year, the Making Schools Safe program will be preceded by an evening program on February 9th at 7:30 p.m. for parents. Alex Myers, this year’s keynote speaker, will share his personal journey as an independent school and college student, and he will be available to answer questions. This program is available to the AIMS parent community free of charge, but registration on the AIMS website is required. To register for the evening parents (only) program click here.
