Leadership and legacy define the Eighth Grade year. Eighth Grade parents meet on topics ranging from their role in the Eighth Grade Play and completing the high school search to preparing for Capstone and graduation.
Think Big: Building a Bridge to Middle School
January 19 at 9:00 a.m.
Fifth Grade is a critical transition time. This session, for Fourth Grade parents, provides info about daily school life, strategies to support ‘tweens, and highlights that distinguish our program.
Think Big: Step up to First Grade
January 26 at 9:00 a.m.
What a momentous year this is! We discuss routines, workshops, and the approach to teaching and learning that build upon all the Kindergarten milestones and prepares your child to approach learning with ever-growing independence and joy.
State of the School Celebration and the I3 Collaborative: 25th Anniversary Speaker Series: The Wonder Years Can Last Forever with Doug Lyons

Haley DeMaria, Board of Trustees Chair, and Lisa Nagel, Head of School open this special event, sharing school updates and highlighting progress of our Strategic Plan. Doug Lyons, Director of the Connecticut Association of Independent Schools, offers a keynote address, bringing 40 years’ experience as a school leader to bear on his understanding of the impact a Twos-Eighth Grade program has on lifelong learning.

Think Big: Upper School Fair and the High School Process
April 25 at 6:00 p.m.
Admissions representatives from more than twenty-five regional day and boarding schools gather in our MPR to greet our Seventh Grade students and share about their high schools. We will review with Seventh Grade families the step-by-step process that guides students to a successful launch to high school. End of year events and next year’s Capstone Project will also be discussed.
Coffee and Conversation: The Assessment Toolkit

Review the variety of student assessments and tools we use to authentically assess learning, maintain challenging expectations, gauge acquisition of knowledge, and more. We will also share with parents standardized test scores for students in Fourth-Seventh Grade.
