Fifth through Eighth Grade Middle School students have the opportunity to become members of the St. Anne’s School of Annapolis Stars athletic teams and participate in interscholastic cross-country, field hockey, soccer, basketball, lacrosse and tennis. The goals of the athletic program are to develop athletic skills, help the student-athlete understand the importance of commitment, demonstrate an ethic of good sportsmanship and promote a life-long interest in fitness and enjoyment of competitive play.
There are no cuts within the St. Anne’s School Stars sports program. Tryouts for some sports determine whether an athlete will be placed on an A or B team. These designations are made in accordance with individual’s grade level, ability and size, and are in line with the Independent School Athletic Association. Team placement using these criteria makes competition more equitable for competitive teams.
We ask parents to discuss team membership with their child. It is our expectation that students who come out for a sport understand the commitment they are making to the team and truly have a desire to play.
Sports Registration Forms can be found in your My BackPack account.
