Teacher Story - Kelly Lane

Lower School Teacher
M.Ed. George Mason University
B.S. University of Maryland

What year did you start teaching at St. Anne's School?
2001

What do you love most about St. Anne's School? I love that we believe in teaching the whole child. We are not dispensers of knowledge but facilitators who provide provocations and opportunities to investigate and explore.

Why do you like teaching at St. Anne’s School? We don't teach children what to think; we teach them how to think. Our individual personalities are allowed to shine, and our expertise is respected and valued. We are encouraged to be life-long learners.

What sets St. Anne's School students apart from other students? St. Anne's School students are willing to take risks. They share their thoughts, ideas, speculations and know that even if they are inaccurate, their misconceptions are valued and are explored and reflected upon in group settings. We learn as much from investigating our misinformation(s) as we do from researching factual data.

We continue to accept applications at select grade levels. For more information or to schedule a tour call 410-263-8650 ext. 218 or email Alyssa Jahn, Director of Admissions and Outreach.
